Designing

tomorrow

I have spent twenty years inside the worlds that shape brands. Creative agencies. Consultancies. Technology companies. Each world had its own language, its own version of the truth. The consultancy saw strategy. The agency saw expression. The technology company saw systems. None saw the whole.

Design, to me, is not only about how something looks. It is about what something is. Its logic, its structure, its reason for existing. You can design a product, a service, a retail experience, a brand, a company or a feeling. Form is not decoration. Form is decision. And a great brand is not just a logo, a campaign or a fancy product. It is the whole experience, felt across every touchpoint, every decision, every moment a customer encounters it.

The strongest brands feel inevitable. They don't make people want their brand. They are the brand people want. Every product, every service, every detail pointing in the same direction, until the whole thing feels like it could never have been any other way.

That kind of coherence doesn't happen by accident. It happens because someone makes the vision tangible, in form and function, and keeps every part true to that, whoever executes it. That is the role I built Vorsprung to play. Not an agency. Not a consultancy. Not a studio. A strategic design practice that sees the whole and gives it form. Upstream with boards and leadership teams. Downstream through everything they make.

I called it Vorsprung, the German word for advantage, because the best brands don't wait for the future. They design it. Vorsprung is not my name. It is my ambition.

WHERE I COME IN

As Chief Creative Officer

For organisations that need someone to lead the creative direction from the inside. Embedded in your team, shaping everything you make and do, until the whole company points the same way.

As Creative Director

On a specific project, product, campaign or brand challenge. I come in at the level where it matters most. In. Focused. Done.

As Venture Partner

For the idea that is too good to leave on the table, yours or mine. Shaping the concept and taking it from first assumption to something ready to pitch.

What is,
and isn't

Is this a design agency?
No. A design agency makes things look right. Vorsprung makes things be right, from the strategy behind it to the form it takes in the world.
Is this a consultancy?
No. A consultancy delivers a document. Vorsprung delivers something you can see, feel and build. The thinking and the making happen together, because that is the only way they stay honest to each other.
Is this an innovation lab?
No. Innovation labs generate ideas. Vorsprung generates answers, specific enough to build, compelling enough to fund, real enough to hold in your hands.
So what is it?
The space between all three. Where strategy takes form, and form carries strategy. Most companies divide that work between different partners and lose something in the gaps. Vorsprung holds the whole.
Do you do branding?
No. Vorsprung does not design logos, campaigns or visual identities. It defines what a brand does and feels like. The brand follows, because the best brands were never designed as brands. They were designed as something people actually wanted.
Do you build or execute the final product?
No. What gets handed over is not a slide deck. It is a direction, a concept, a form, real enough to act on, impossible to ignore. The specialists who build it come after. Vorsprung makes sure they all know what they are building toward.
Is this only for large companies?
No. The work is for anyone with an ambition big enough to need it. Organisations redefining their next five years. Founders who need their idea to be impossible to say no to. The size of the company matters less than the size of the question.
Do you work on existing businesses or only new ideas?
Both. Sometimes the future requires something entirely new. Sometimes it requires seeing what already exists in a completely different way. The starting point is always the same: where is the world going, and what needs to exist when it gets there.
How long does an engagement take?
It depends on where you are and what you need. Direction & Strategy typically runs four to eight weeks. Concept Development six to ten. A full engagement, from ambition to form, can run four to twelve months. Some questions take longer than others. The important ones usually do.
Can we work on just one part?
Yes. Direction & Strategy, Concept Development and Form Direction can be engaged separately or as a whole. Most clients start with the question they cannot yet answer and build from there.
What does Vorsprung actually deliver?
Not a report that sits on a shelf. Not a strategy deck that means something different to everyone in the room. A direction your organisation can see, feel and move toward, a concept, a product, a service, an experience, backed by a business case that makes it impossible to ignore. You leave with something real. Something that didn't exist before you walked in. Something the people around you can act on without needing it explained.
Is this AI-generated work?
Yes and no. The ideas are original. The strategy is real. The specialists behind the final form, in 3D, design, code and technology, are people, not prompts. What AI does here is close the gap between thinking and proof. What used to take months now takes days. That's a faster pencil, not a different mind. It makes it possible for one person to move from ambition to strategy to something you can actually see and hold, before the specialists take it further. The work is faster. It isn't less human.

The best companies are not the best managed. They are the best designed.
